Glen, Dad, Papa

We got shocking, devastating news on Tuesday morning.  Warren's dad, Glen, died unexpectedly that morning.   He was young, in great shape, and ate well.   It is completely terrible and unfair and no one was ready for it.

Warren is on his way home now.  I know he cannot get there soon enough.  After much heartbreak, we both decided it would be best for me to stay here with the girls, who are also grieving.  It sucks to be SO far away in a time like this.

I've been sitting here looking through my family photos with Glen and have caught myself smiling so many times at the memories.  Glen/Dad/Papa had a huge heart.  He prioritized his family above everything else and was the perfect role model for Warren as a dad.  He made us laugh all of time, he was genuine, caring, loving, fun, generous, smart, the best host, thoughtful, honest, quirky, loved good food and wine, a good atmosphere, and the company of his family.  He made the BEST sandwiches!  He didn't have a malicious bone in his body.   He would travel anywhere for us...and was so proud of everyone he loved.   He and Anne came to Atlanta nearly every 6 weeks to see us, had already been to Fiji and he was in the midst of planning our next family vacation when we all unexpectedly lost him.  Life won't be the same without him.  He is so terribly missed.   I will always be grateful for the memories and that he was in my life.
