Primary Concert

Image
The kids had their primary concert last night. Zoë was a mermaid and danced to Under the Sea and Andie designed her own American t-shirt to walk her cat-walk in a fashion show.   She also performed an Indian dance.  They were both thrilled to be in the performance....super confident.  They were so pleased that I let them wear make-up. I am afraid of what I started!  Andie asked for eyeliner this morning!  I was amazed at the talent in that school!  Those kids can dance!!!  The teachers worked so hard to choreograph their routines and practice with them.  It was seriously impressive.  Anyway, I didn't take many photos...more videos- which take about 36 hours to download...so here are some pics.. By the way, I had to go to a tailor to get Zoë's dress made - all of the parents did. fierce look

Work gathering

Warren has finished training of the Peace Corps Volunteers so we decided to have the whole Peace Corps staff and trainers to our house last night (about 40 people).   We got it catered and Warren smoked brisket, pork, and chicken wings. I worked on apps and dessert...so we had PLENTY of food....   but, it's always better to have more than you need I think.  Around 2 hours before the party, Warren was at the store and I heard the gate open.  I thought it was him, but it was actually two of his Fijian colleagues coming with matts for the floor and a huge cava bowl.   They moved around some furniture and set up our house for a proper Fijian gathering.   It turned out to be a great night.  I love the way they all sang and played guitar all night.  I love the way everyone helped out with the dishes.  I love the way most of us sat on the mats to eat our dinner and to drink cava.   It was beautiful.   before the fun began

Kawarren's 80th

Image
This past weekend we went back to Leleuvia to celebrate both Warren and my 40th birthdays- making it an 80th bday celebration.  I forgot my camera but luckily others were more prepared than I.  It was such a lovely weekend of good conversation, card games, laughs, Georgia mules on the beach, kayaking and paddle boarding, imported cheese eating, and late night dancing.   I really could not have asked for a better weekend.  I feel so fortunate to have the friends we do and to live in a place like this to celebrate our 40th's together. The walk away from the boat as soon as we arrived. kids settling in happy hour at our bure good friends - blessed to have them here the girls....again feel lucky to have them here Warrren pretending to be jealous of the "other man" on the way over the kids rode under the boat.
