Last Wednesday 35 new Peace Corps Trainees were sworn in as Peace Corps Volunteers after a rigorous 10 week training. It was such a cool, colorful event as everyone there wore bula attire and most of the villages dressed alike. The audience was a vast array of color and smiles. The volunteers did a cultural performance and they nailed it! Our family dressed in kalavata (all the same material) as well....really making me feel like our little clan belonged to one another. The tailor did an outstanding job on our sula jabas. Warren gave a great speech that the girls (somewhat) patiently waited for. It brought back many memories of my own swearing in 15 (wow) years ago! Overall it was a great celebration!
